Russia has too many old men in its bureaucracy

TopWar.ru is one of the most popular sites on the Russian Internet which deals with geopolitics and the arms trade across the globe.

While many of its members are Pro-Communist or Pro-Putin, they are not reliant on Channel 1 News in Russia to think about the conditions of the Russian Federation. Many of them severely criticize President Putin for being too cozy with oligarchs and warn about the crisis in Russian reputation in the Caucasus countries such as Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan. It is an interesting place to read as an American as they have a political sense that is far beyond that of many Americans who unfortunately do not read or engage with politics beyond looking at it through the lenses of cinema or what they saw on television or on social media silos.

One user made a clear point about the Russian government in the contemporary moment. He noticed the age of the diplomatic officers and linked it to why Russia was succeeding in taking territory in Ukraine but losing in the battle of hearts and minds in the Caucasus.

Many of the men in the diplomatic service are old and honestly, they seem too conservative for what Russia needs now.

Sergei Lavrov, while he has been working hard to maintain relationships is too focused on an older style of relationships in the global order. He believes in the type of relations that allowed astronauts from America and the Soviet Union to meet together to move the space race to another era.

However, we are not living in that age. We are living in an age where multipolarity is more of an abstract idealism rather something concrete that can be implemented. We are once again living in a Bipolar world once again here.

The Soviet Union began as a Union of Brotherhood amongst many peoples. By the time of Gorbachev, many republics were agitating aganist Russians and the Soviet Union. A new sense of nationlism was sweeping the Soviet Union. The Russians, having shown their incompetence at ruling the Soviet Union under developed Socialism, were seeing the empire break into pieces as many nations were born out of chaos.

Russia's old neoliberals are unable to understand this new reality. Many young people who support Putin seem to forget how Putin has been in power since 2000 and most of his accomplishments were before the War with Ukraine. Culturally, Russia is making more movies and TV shows about their history than before but making stories has backed up actual power and ability to have real allies. The Russian newsmongers are writing tons of articles that are all about keeping Russians within silos.

Russia needs to have a government which is led by the youth of Russia; they cannot be any youth but one of intelligence and temperance.
